After the establishment of Pakistan, the first Qadiani riots took place in 1953. Under planning, the 1953 movement to protect the end of Prophethood was crushed by state oppression. The then President, Prime Minister, pro-Qadiani Governor General Ghulam Muhammad, Qadiani Foreign Minister Sir Zafarullah Khan and Defense Secretary Sikandar Mirza were working for the interests of the Qadianis.
In the Lahore riots of 1953, only 5 Qadianis were killed while more than 10,000 Muslims were shot dead, but their three main demands were not accepted.
Martial law was imposed in Lahore for 70 days after the first Qadiani riots in 1953.During the 1953 Tehreek Khatman Nabubt, the Qadian establishment invented a new formula to maintain its dominance in Pakistan and ensured military supremacy in Pakistan for the time to come by giving carte blanche to the first Martial Law Administrator, General Azam Khan Qadiani.
